Flyfishing
“Neal, in Montana there’s three things we’re never late for: church, work and fishing.”-A River Runs Through It, 1992 film.
“Although he and I had acquired freedoms as we grew up, we never violated our early religious training of always being on time for church, work, and fishing”.-A River Runs Through It by Norman Maclean, 1989, page 55.

Gallatin River
Madison River. This picture was taken one early evening in the summer of 2004. My brother and I had some excellent days of fishing that year-especially just as the sun was about to set and the bugs started to hatch. This guy was caught on an elk hair caddis.

These pictures are from a kayak trip that my brother and I took down the Madison River in 2004. We caught some really nice fish, and saw a family of river otters swim past our boats. (And yes, my little brother Todd caught more fish than I did!)

Pictures from another float trip we took down the Madison-this time we had sunny and gorgeous weather.

My cousin Brandy and I fishing the East Gallatin River. If you can fight off the hordes of mosquitoes on the East Gallatin in the summer, you most likely will be rewarded with some spectacular fishing.

Emily, her puppy Henry, Jessica and I, June 24, 2007. We didn’t catch anything on this day, but had some good laughs wading through knee-deep mud and jungle-thick willows.
Jessica’s first fish caught on a dry fly on July 19, 2007.

Jessica and I hiked into Hellroaring Creek in July 2004. The fishing was unbelievable! I used a royal coachman and caught some gorgeous cutthroat trout.
